Early Advantage seeks attentive and energetic Teacher Aides to work alongside the Lead Teacher and provide a nurturing and caring learning environment for some deserving children.
The Teacher Aide assists the Lead Teacher in developing and implementing activities that promote each child's social, emotional, and physical development. The ideal candidate is aide-qualified, typically working Monday through Friday between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm OR 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm. In addition, if you are assistant teacher-qualified, we would love to have you on our team, typically working until 6 pm at least a couple of evenings a week.
DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist the lead teacher in carrying out the curriculum and daily activities, including both long- and short-range goals
• Support the lesson plans and activities provided by the Lead Teacher and follow their lead and direction
• Uphold and engage in the program’s philosophy
• Maintain a consistent daily routine, including classroom structures, mealtimes, physical play, a nap period, and outside play
• Assist children throughout the daily routine; provide extra assistance in the bathroom, during the transition, and during meal times.
• Encourage age-appropriate learning experiences
• Sing songs, play games, read books; build from the children’s knowledge and skills
• Put the well-being of children and their families first
• Adapt to the needs of all children in the classroom
• Assist in conflict management between children in the classroom; teach the children skills that they are missing
• Building lasting relationships and connections with children and families
• Actively engaging with all children by getting down on their level and having fun
• Physically move yourself around the environment to actively engage and monitor children inside and outside to ensure everyone’s safety.
• Engage children in positive, productive activities that support their learning and development
• Provide quality, nurturing care to all children enrolled in the program
• Being respectful and creating partnerships with your co-workers must possess a solid ability to communicate positively and openly.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff; this includes cleaning responsibilities throughout the day
• Accurately fill out and maintain daily roster, daily reports, accident/incident reports, medication logs, and behavior documentation
• Stay current will all required training, including CPR, First Aid, SUIDS, and AHT.
