International Opportunity for a Turbine Plant Engineer to support the existing Sebenzana APP team at Sendou Power Station in Senegal
The Sendou Thermal Power plant was returned to service in September 2021. This was after initial commissioning troubles and the Covid pandemic which caused major delays in 2019. Sebenzana APP which is a South Africanbased specialist operations and maintenance company has played a crucial role in returning the key electricity asset back to service. A longterm relationship between Compagnie d Electricit du S n gal (CES) and Sebenzana APP has resulted in major ongoing initiatives at Sendou:

A longterm relationship between Compagnie d Electricit du S n gal (CES) and Sebenzana APP has resulted in major ongoing initiatives at Sendou:
- Site rehabilitation and recommissioning via the Sendou EPCM initiative
- Detailed planning of a power station rehabilitation overhaul including warranty inspections from the original equipment manufacturer
- Establishment of a longterm sustainable performancebased operations and maintenance contract for the power plant via the Sendou O&M initiative
The APP approach leverages all the asset s historical and arising data capturing it inside APP s Smart Asset Management Platform (SAMP). This data is then combined with regional and international expertise to ensure that the best possible asset decisions are made and implemented on the power station site.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Turbine Plant Owner / Custodian
- RCFA and execution / coordination of actions
- Plant modifications (project execution or coordination)
- Definition and updating of maintenance requirements and specifications (incl. Outage Philosophies)
- Optimization to improve performance (heat rate integrity reliability)
- Internal Training (Develop and present to appropriate personnel on site awareness level and advanced level)
- Planned and Opportunity Outage Scoping
- Development of Sendouspecific procedures standards and policies for applicable plant and equipment
- Complete MOC process related to mods made updating of control philosophies drawings maintenance strategies etc.
- Critical Spares identification and Obsolete Spares planning
Requirements
- BEng / BSc Mechanical Engineer with previous experience in energy sector or related experience on Turbine s is a must.
- Previous experience as Steam Turbine Engineer (More than two years required)
- Previous international/expat experience will be advantageous
- Fluent in English/French advantageous
