Client description:

Join a leading British logistics provider with over 25 years of indepth industry experience specializing in the transportation and installation of large structures and critical assets across major infrastructure projects. With a proud maritime heritage the company possesses significant assets including heavy cargo barges one of the largest domestic SPMT fleets in the UK and substantial lift cranes ensuring all projects are delivered on time and within budget.


Job description:

As the Assistant Commercial Manager you will oversee the management and administration of commercial contracts from the initial bid process through the tender stage to the closeout of projects. This role is crucial in ensuring adherence to company governance and specific contract requirements throughout the lifecycle of each project.


Key Responsibilities:

CRM Management: Collaborate with project managers and commercial leads to maintain the CRM system liaising with clients to update on tender progress and advancing opportunities through the pipeline.

CRM Insights: Analyze CRMgenerated data to enhance tender conversion rates working closely with senior project managers to identify optimal tendering opportunities.

Pipeline Modelling: Develop and implement sales strategies based on CRM data manage resource utilization forecasting and identify potential revenue opportunities.

Bid Management: Act as a central point for solution sourcing and presentation assisting in opportunity pricing and tender documentation.

Quality Control: Ensure all sales and commercial processes meet the companys quality standards and represent the division during internal audits.

Internal Reporting: Participate in internal financial meetings contributing to discussions on profit and loss and cash flow.

Marketing and Administration: Drive marketing initiatives and perform general commercial or project administrative duties.

Project Control: Support project managers in meeting contractual requirements related to invoicing and cost control.



Requirements

What You ll Need to Succeed:

Experience: At least 5 years in administration support with proficiency in contract finance and CRM systems such as Sage/CEMAR.

Education: Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent.

Skills: Excellent planning organizational and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite particularly Word and Excel. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage a varied workload efficiently.

Travel: Willingness to travel to other company offices and project sites as needed.


Desirable:

Membership or candidacy for The Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) or equivalent.

Knowledge of current legislative requirements and procurement management.

Ability to improve systems and processes for enhanced efficiency.

Additional Requirements: A full clean UK driving licence and valid right to work within the UK.
