As an SDET you will be part of a nurturing work environment that highly values your contributions and actively encourages continuous learning. You will interpret written requirements and technical specifications for software solutions to business problems. We will develop software based on technical specifications. Will analyze and investigate issues with software solutions that clients have reported and document the results of their investigation(s). Will perform maintenance of software and correct defects that have been identified during the maintenance process. They will run unit tests on the software they create implement test plans and test harnesses and document the test results. Will investigate and suggest solutions to defects and problems with software solutions that have been detected during testing. Must have the ability to work in a fastpaced environment and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Develop execute and maintain automation test cases and test scenarios for high volume low latency web and desktop applications. Design test automation framework for web services APIs and webbased applications to ensure automation is constantly running analyzing documenting and promptly reporting on failures. Partner with scrum team members to build out automation solutions to advance Schwab SDLCs and meet critical business objectives. Design data persistence using SQL Mongo or any database management system. Drive a continuous improvement mentality to deliver robust performance testing strategies and methods. Mentor peers and junior SDETs and create a culture of following automation best practices and standards by code reviews.

Job Details:

• As part of our team you can work with Agile/Lean development and testing practices including Automated Test Driven Development Test Driven Development Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery. You will gain handson experience with browser automation testing tools (Sauce Labs Selenium Protractor Coded UI etc.) and SQL Server or documentoriented databases (MongoDB). This role offers a platform to grow and develop your skills in a dynamic and challenging environment.
• Advanced handson software development experience and experience with leading automation framework development (610 years)
• Hands Experience with DevOps and Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins Bamboo Puppet etc.) **This role will sit onsite in Austin (MF)**Ideally would like to convert resources to FTE in the future** Work crossorganizationally both within Schwab and with external vendors both on and offshore to implement test practices standards and processes define environment requirements troubleshoot test issues record test results track and prioritize defects participate in product readiness and release decisions. Define and execute the project and release level Test Strategies Test Plans and Test Cases/Scripts spanning multiple internal Dev/QA/Product Teams.
• Act as the escalation point for all testingrelated issues provide the QA perspective report status and escalate issues to responsible stakeholders and ensure standard and consistent QA processes are followed. Participate in technical governance and help negotiate overall product quality standards with development and business teams. Coordinate with team members for testing activities participating in Requirements Ambiguity & Use Case / User Story Reviews and conducting QA analysis & test support activities. Lead fellow engineers in writing effective tests and constantly challenge yourself to improve overall test coverage.
• Set and communicate automation strategies and processes for web services APIs middleware UI etc. Evaluate and implement software test automation tools and tooling standards. Build automation frameworks to increase reuse and reduce effort. Increase automation cycle execution run times and decrease manual analysis of results.
• Be a leader in enabling teams to use TDD/BDD/ATDD using Gherkin/Ruby/Cucumber Design Develop and Implement test data management strategies Design Develop and Implement service virtualization strategies to test external services Drive continuous integration and deployment strategies leveraging tools like Bamboo with a CI/CD philosophy Experience and education must include: Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or a related field 10 years of handson application programming and test automation/framework experience in an Agile development environment Experience in developing or influencing the development of automated framework(s) for enterpriselevel functional and regression testing is preferable Experience with one or more programming language JAVA (Spring Boot)and advance features use of java 1.8. Strong programming debugging/troubleshooting and problemsolving skills. Experience in BDD TDD or ATDD design techniques. Exposure to different Test data management techniques and tools. Experience in API test automation using Rest Assured is desired.
• Expertise in database querying data manipulation and population using SQL in Oracle MongoDB or SQL Server. Expertise in enterprise messaging platforms using WMQ RabbitMQ and Kafka Experience with REST API service testing using tools SOAPUI; Advanced REST Client Experience with CI /CD tools like Bamboo Zephyr Bit Bucket Shell Scripting/Powershell and Splunk is a plus.
• Working knowledge of Agile Iterative development process and Rational Unified Process development methodologies and performance engineering. Team player with excellent communication skills (oral and written) to partner technically with Application Architects Development QA/Testing organizations and Business teams.
