Laboratory Technician

Location: Harrietsham

We are looking for a versatile Laboratory Technician to join our team in Harrietsham.

The role will encompass a diverse range of Laboratory responsibilities including general lab administration a variety of different Lab tests and various other daily laboratory duties.

Whilst previous experience working within a Laboratory environment is preferable it is not essential as we are looking for a keen team player who can learn on the job.

Important data entry will be a fundamental part of this role so a keen eye for detail and accuracy is essential.

Core responsibilities:

• Data entry of important test results
• Following stringent quality procedures to perform testing
• Carrying out various soil and concrete tests throughout the lab
• Liaise with the quality department to book in calibration or report equipment failure
• Maintain good laboratory practice maintenance of laboratory equipment and safe working procedures.
• Always maintain good housekeeping standards. Keeping all areas clean tidy and free from obstruction and hazards.
• Any other tasks assigned by your senior or lab manager
• Assist with UKAS Audits
• Having the ability to work as part of a team and the initiative to be able to work solely.
• To Ensure the current turnaround times for in house testing are being met.

Experience / Skills:

• Educated to GCSE level or above with a good level of numeracy and literacy.
• Experience in construction laboratory testing is advantageous.
• IT literate.
