You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAbout the role You will be responsible for supporting the logistics section of the Procurement department in relation to multi-modal freight movement (imports and exports). Timely follow-up for space availability with QR Cargo, shipping lines and manage end to end delivery of the consignments in the most timely and economic manner ensuring best value for the company in line with its strategic, financial and operational requirements. Accountabilities: • Work effectively with internal user departments, QR Cargo and freight forwarders on logistics projects. • Follow up day to day logistics issues. • Always work toward meeting users delivery requirements. • Be diligent in checking and delivering high quality, accurate work to internal customers, managers and freight forwarders. • Be aware of the local import/export laws and customs regulations. • Provide administrative support to managers and team. • Perform other related duties, as igned, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit. • Support the selection of freight mode and supplier by making recommendation on the fastest and most economical way to transport. • Proactively suggest process improvements. • Seek to provide solutions to operational problems. • Ensure best value at all times for the logistics services procured on behalf of the organisation. Qualifications About you You will possess: Essential: • Diploma or ociate Degree or equivalent Preferred: • Bachelors Degree or equivalent • Logistics related vocational qualification and/or educational credits • Experienced - minimum 4 years of job-related experience required • 2-3 years’ experience in a logistics role • Airline, Middle East experience. Job Specific Ss: • Strong communications ss (including good written and spoken English) • Numeracy and the ability to present data clearly and accurately. • Broad working knowledge of policies, procedures, rules and regulations in local (including customs) and International logistics. • Ability to interpret and apply local / International logistics regulations. • Should be well-versed with the latest Incoterms and all relevant logistics terminology. • Organization ss • Communication (including good written and spoken English) • Planning/Organising • Numeracy & ysis • Negotiation/Influencing • Business aen Be part of an extraordinary story Your ss.
