English Teacher at the American Language Center

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate closely with the EL Supervisor to plan and implement high quality and engaging courses
• Employ a solutions-driven approach in ensuring course facilitation and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with fellow English Teachers across the ALCs in Jordan
• Attend and contribute to teacher training activities to align with program priorities related to teacher professional development.
• Contribute to efforts to capture and catalog participant impact stories for course promotion.
• Thorough reporting, reflection, and evaluation activities to ensure cohesive data collection in a timely manner.
• Represent the ALC teacher team both internal and external events, as needed.

Qualifications:

• A minimum B2 level of proficiency on the CEFR as confirmed through an interview or provision or valid, internationally recognized essment such as TOEFL ITP, TOEFL iBT, TOEIC or IELTS
• Bachelor's degree in English Language, or any relevant field
• TESOL/TEFL/ CELTA/PCELT certificate or qualification is a must
• 2+ years of relevant experience in teaching English as a Foreign Language within an international education program, intensive English language education institution, or an international exchange project.
• Demonstrated ability to plan strategically and meet program objectives.
• Knowledge of English language teaching ods, approaches, and materials
• Flexible, self-motivated, and patient
• Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under JOHUD’s code of conduct, child safeguarding, and Protection against sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA),
• Exceptional team player with strong interpersonal ss demonstrated by the ability to work in a multicultural, multiethnic, and multilingual environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
• Experience with online learning platforms (a plus, if relevant).
