Position Details:
- Fulltime LVN positions available for 4 days and 1 night shift.
- Start times are betweenfor day shifts andfor night shifts.
- Clearance documents will be provided to candidates during the review stage.
- 4:3 rotating schedule.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing services treatments and diagnostic and preventive procedures tailored to inmate care and safety.
- Interpret physicians orders.
- Administer prescribed medications.
- Assist the physician during sick call when present.
- Apply surgical dressings and bandages.
- Provide emergency first aid care.
- Check and record vital signs.
- Educate inmates about discharge planning.
- Observe and report signs and symptoms during sick call in the physician s absence.
- Report reactions to treatments and medications as well as changes in inmates emotional or physical condition.
- Instruct and supervise correctional staff on inmate healthcare needs.
- Consult with supervisors on complex cases.
- Check and order medical supplies.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Educate inmates on healthcare.
Shift Options:
- Shift assignment determined by UTMB.

- Estelle Unit Byrd Unit Ellis Unit Ferguson Unit Holliday Unit Huntsville Unit Wainwright Unit and Wynne Unit.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Licensed Vocational Nurse Program with a current license/permit as a vocational nurse in the State of Texas.
- Minimum of 1 year of Med/Surg or LTAC experience.
- Current BLSHP certification required.
- IV Therapy Certification for LVNs is mandatory.
