Chief Investment Officer

A unique opportunity awaits at SMArtX Advisory a fastgrowing Financial Technology company. We seek a Chief Investment Officer (CIO) as a senior executive responsible for overseeing the organizations investment strategy and portfolio management. The CIO will lead the investment team manage the companys investment portfolios and ensure alignment with the companys financial goals and risk tolerance. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets investment principles and the ability to make strategic decisions to maximize returns while managing risk.

Responsibilities:

• Investment Strategy Development:

  • Coordinate above investment activity efforts with other SMArtX initiatives across technology/operations sales marketing and investment platform management (3rd party strategy roster) and collaborate on SMArtX strategic vision.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive investment strategies that align with the organizations financial objectives.

  • Conduct market analysis to identify investment opportunities and threats.

  • Define asset allocation policies and strategies for diversified investment portfolios.

• Portfolio Management:

  • Oversee the management of the companys investment portfolios including equities fixed income real estate and alternative investments.

  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of investment portfolios against benchmarks and performance targets.

  • Make decisions regarding asset selection purchase and sale of securities.

• Risk Management:

  • Identify and assess investment risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.

  • Implement risk management frameworks and controls to safeguard the organizations investments.

• Team Leadership:

  • Lead mentor and develop the investment team fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration within the investment team and with other departments.

  • Oversee the recruitment training and development of investment staff.

• Stakeholder Management:

  • Chair SMArtX Investment Policy Committee and oversee SMArtX investment activities including financial market outlook and model management

  • Present investment strategies performance and market insights to the executive team board of directors and other stakeholders.

  • Build relationships with external investment managers advisors and financial institutions.

  • Act as a spokesperson for the organizations investment strategy in public forums and industry conferences.

• Research and Analysis:

  • Conduct and oversee indepth research on market trends economic conditions and specific investment opportunities.

  • Utilize quantitative and qualitative analysis to support investment decisions.

  • Stay current with financial news emerging trends and regulatory changes impacting the investment landscape.

• Financial Planning and Reporting:

  • Create written materials and PowerPoint presentations to reinforce SMArtXs market outlook and investment strategies.

  • Keep up with the latest industry trends and evaluate potential strategic partnerships.

  • Develop longterm financial plans that support the organizations growth objectives.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on investment performance strategy updates and market conditions.

  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure alignment between investment strategies and the overall financial goals of the organization.

Skills Required:

• Bachelors degree in finance economics or related fields; MBA preferred but not required
• Chartered Financial Analyst designation is a must
• 10 years of portfolio management experience with investment strategy/analysis experience across fixed income equities and/or (preferably) asset allocation
• 5 years of media and conference/client presentation experience
• Proficient at Microsoft Excel/Word/Powerpoint; coding capabilities a plus
• Extensive knowledge of economics capital markets quantitative analysis and investment/portfolio theory
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with an ability to distill complex economic and financial market concepts in an easytounderstand manner
• Strong commercial/business acumen with extensive client/sales experience
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities
