Job Description

USALCO LLC is an established successful and growing supplier of aluminum and ironbased intermediates to Fortune 500 as well as other industrial and municipal accounts.

Overview

The Project Engineer is an enterprising individual with a broad range of skills who is personally and professionally motivated to drive continuous economic mechanical and process improvements. This person primarily assists the Engineering Department while also supporting and responding to requests from the Operations Quality and Sales departments. Project work can range from maintenance to R&D to new plant design and construction. Safety product quality and continuous improvement of processes are paramount concerns.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design engineering effort in the development of P&IDs PFDs General Arrangements equipment selection specifications and other design documentation as required for capital projects.
  • Support the engineering department in utility and environmental studies.
  • Assisting project managers and engineering in preparing scopes and budgets for projects.
  • Facilitate coordination between operations engineering and construction as necessary.
  • Provide coordination with outside consultants and engineering firms for designs and regulatory documentation.
  • Develop and support relationships with contractors vendors local and state regulatory agencies building permit agencies or others to implement projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Develops calculations procedures reports and equipment designs for projects and systems.
  • Provide equipment selection quotes reviews and documentation to support projects.
  • Supports troubleshooting long term process / production issues.
  • Ensures usage of engineering related best practices & standards.
  • Participates in safety programs and initiatives.
  • Provide onsite construction support during installation renovations or other CapEx projects.
  • Participates in plant inspections and walkthroughs.
  • Support asbuilt efforts across the company.
  • Assist in MOC PSSR design reviews SOPs coordination meetings between relevant departments.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
  • 2 or more years relevant experience in a chemical or process engineering field preferred.
  • Ability to work independently or across multidisciplinary team to accomplish complex and dynamic goals.
  • Understanding of multidisciplinary design documents as required to support construction activities. This includes civil electrical mechanical structural and architectural documents.
  • Ability to effectively use AutoCAD excel and other software as required.
  • Ability to travel to support projects and plant operations across any of the companys facilities as required. Travel may exceed 50%.
  • Ability to learn and understand multidisciplinary equipment from tanks to pumps to electrical instruments and gear.
  • Hands on work ethic.
