Position Title: Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Implementation Architect

Location: Remote

Position Summary: The Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) Implementation Architect is responsible for designing implementing and optimizing AVD solutions for enterprise clients. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that AVD deployments are aligned with business needs and technical requirements providing high performance security and scalability.

• 5 years working in VDI based solutions which includes implementing Azure Virtual Desktop solutions.
• 5 years of experience working in Azure using various cloud services.
• Proficiency in customizing AVD solutions to meet client needs.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols related to virtual desktop environments.
• Hands on experience to implement and configure Azure Virtual Desktop components such as host pools app groups workspaces images profiles policies and scaling.
• Experience in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Azure Virtual Desktop performance availability security and connectivity.
• Demonstrated expertise in migrating from Citrix and other VDI solutions to Azure Virtual Desktop.
• Experience to monitor analyze and optimize Azure Virtual Desktop cost with automation and AI.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
• Azure Architecture and Azure Virtual Desktop certifications preferred.

1. Design and Architecture:
   • Develop comprehensive AVD architecture and design solutions that meet client requirements.
   • Create detailed implementation plans including network configurations security measures and resource allocation.
   • Assess and select appropriate Azure services and tools to support AVD deployments.
2. Implementation and Deployment:
   • Lead the deployment of AVD environments ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
   • Configure and manage virtual machines session hosts and other AVD components.
   • Implement identity and access management solutions to secure AVD environments.
3. Optimization and Performance:
   • Optimize AVD performance by configuring scaling options monitoring resource utilization and adjusting settings as needed.
   • Implement best practices for disaster recovery backup and data protection.
   • Regularly review and refine AVD deployments to improve efficiency and user experience.
4. Collaboration and Support:
   • Work closely with clients project managers and IT teams to gather requirements and provide technical expertise.
   • Offer guidance and support to internal teams and clients during the deployment and postdeployment phases.
   • Conduct training sessions and create documentation to ensure smooth operation and maintenance of AVD environments.
5. Security and Compliance:
   • Ensure that AVD solutions comply with relevant security standards and regulations.
   • Implement and maintain security controls to protect sensitive data within AVD environments.
   • Perform regular security assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
6. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
   • Stay updated with the latest Azure and AVD features updates and industry trends.
   • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation within AVD deployments.
   • Contribute to the development of best practices and standard operating procedures for AVD implementations.

Key Skills:

• Technical Expertise:
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft Azure especially Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) services.
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies and cloud infrastructure.
  • Strong understanding of networking storage and security principles related to AVD.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g. PowerShell Azure CLI).
• ProblemSolving and Analytical Skills:
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues within AVD environments.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate and optimize system performance.
• Project Management:
  • Experience managing largescale IT projects including planning execution and delivery.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in IT infrastructure cloud services or virtual desktop environments.
  • Proven experience with AVD implementation and management.
  • Experience in a clientfacing role and delivering technical solutions to enterprise clients.
• Certifications:
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty or equivalent are highly desirable.

Work Environment:

• This role typically operates in a professional office environment but may require travel to client sites or other company locations.
