You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailLocation:Angul OdishaDepartment: Procurement/PurchasingReports to: Senior Manager PurchaseJob Summary:The Junior Manager Purchase will support the procurement activities within the Metals & Mining sector focusing on the Steel industry and Heavy Earth Moving Machinery (HEMM) such as excavators. This role involves sourcing and negotiating with suppliers managing contracts ensuring timely delivery of highquality materials and equipment and maintaining comprehensive records. The Junior Manager will collaborate closely with other departments to meet their procurement needs efficiently.Key Responsibilities:Supplier Management:Identify evaluate and select suppliers for raw materials machinery and equipment specific to the steel industry and HEMM.Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors.Monitor and assess supplier performance addressing any issues related to quality or delivery.Procurement Process:Assist in the development and implementation of strategic procurement plans tailored to the Metals & Mining sector.Prepare and process purchase orders in compliance with company policies and industry standards.Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.Negotiation:Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers to secure highquality materials and equipment at competitive prices.Manage the negotiation and renewal of contracts with suppliers.Inventory and Asset Management:Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials and HEMM parts to ensure optimal stock levels.Coordinate with the warehouse and logistics teams to guarantee timely delivery and storage of goods.Cost Control:Conduct market analysis to identify costsaving opportunities within the steel industry and HEMM procurement.Perform cost analysis and set benchmarks for procurement efficiency.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities including orders invoices and contracts.Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities supplier performance and cost management.Collaboration:Collaborate with production finance and quality assurance teams to understand their procurement requirements and ensure timely supply of materials and equipment.Participate in crossfunctional projects and initiatives to support company goals.Qualifications:Bachelor s degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management Engineering or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing role within the Metals & Mining sector preferably in the Steel industry and HEMM.Strong negotiation and communication skills.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.Knowledge of supply chain management procurement best practices and industryspecific requirements.Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.Preferred Qualifications:Professional certification in procurement (e.g. Certified Professional in Supply Management CPSM).Experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle).Familiarity with the operational and maintenance needs of HEMM and excavators.Work Environment:Office environment with occasional travel to supplier sites and mining locations.Fastpaced and dynamic work environment requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
