About The role
As a Cost Accountant you are responsible for reviewing and auditing product and material costs ensuring accurate classification and tracking of materials and managing financial transactions related to inventory and projects. This role involves generating regular reports performing reconciliation and coordinating with suppliers to maintain accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and audit product costs and material costs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Compare last purchase costs with average costs to identify discrepancies.
- Classify materials correctly to maintain organized and accurate records.
- Process purchase orders and purchase invoices.
- Effect material stock vouchers to the corresponding sites to ensure accurate inventory tracking.
- Post monthly Work In Progress (WIP) transactions for each project allocating costs to the appropriate cost centres.
- Follow up on supplier balances waybills and invoices matching them with the trial balance to ensure accuracy.
- Generate material consumption reports weekly to monitor usage and costs.
- Conduct monthly intercompany reconciliation between affiliates.
Requirements
- A Bachelor s degree in Business Management Finance Accounting or Audit studies is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Cost Accounting or a similar role.
- Experience in a Real Estate Manufacturing or Production environment preferred.
Skills
- Fluency in both English and the local language is essential.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
