Job Description

Overview:
Custom Food is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive growth in the specialty food ingredients market particularly in key segments like nondairy creamer fat powders and other functional ingredients. This role focuses on developing new business and enhancing existing relationships leveraging a consultative sales approach to deliver customized solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities. Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to closing employing a consultative approach to customize solutions in collaboration with R&D and product development teams.
  • Account Management: Actively manage and nurture relationships with existing clients. Focus on crossselling and upselling to enhance customer engagement and increase sales volume.
  • R&D Collaboration: Work closely with technical teams to develop new product applications tailored to market needs and customer feedback.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients providing highlevel support and ensuring their needs are met throughout the product development and sales process.
  • Sales Tools Utilization: Utilize CRM systems to organize and track sales efforts ensuring efficient management of client interactions and sales processes.

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in Food Science/Technology or related field with a solid understanding of nutritional and functional food ingredients.
  • Experience: 410 years in sales with direct experience in specialty food ingredients especially in the nondairy segments. Experience in pharma nutraceutical or chemical sales is also highly relevant.
  • Sales Skills: Proven track record in managing longer sales cycles with a consultative approach. Experience in developing custom solutions rather than relying on a fixed product list. Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential.
  • Travel: Frequent customer visits around Klang Valley with occasional overseas travels for international expos.
