THE ROLE

Recruiting an experienced Accounts Assistant on a permanent fulltime basis to join our fastpaced finance team. Successful candidate will be responsible for key Accounts Payable processes and will have an opportunity to be involved in a wide range of accounting & finance aspects.

This role is based in Ireland.

WHO YOULL WORK WITH

In this role you will be working within the finance team we are 15 individuals with varying levels of qualifications and experience at the heart of everything in Hostelworld. The team currently work on a hybrid model trying to all attend the office together one day a week. We find that the key to our effective WFH model has been a closeknit team. Were looking for someone whos genuine and friendly who enjoys working as part of a team environment and whos willing to roll up their sleeves when required. We have an office space for those who prefer a hybrid model where you can spend time with colleagues inperson. The role will report to the Financial Accountant and involves a significant amount of interaction with both internal (our employees!) and external third parties.

WHAT YOULL DO

As the Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for our main trading entity managing several key monthly management reports & reconciliations

  • Management of Accounts Payable function for our main trading entity:

> Processing of supplier invoices with accurate coding to the general ledger.

> Oversee review & approval of invoices through our bespoke purchasing module.

> Processing of payment runs and payment requests via online banking platforms in our monthly payment run with emphasis on cashflow management.

> Monthly creditor reconciliations.

  • Ensuring that the accounts payable function operate bestinclass controls including purchase order requisitions callback procedures for all new suppliers set up of payments in line with company policies on payment threshold approval limits and so forth.
  • Monthend reconciliations with the commitment to achieving tight monthend deadlines (3 day close).
  • Preparation of bank postings including allocation of payments and completion of monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Managing the employee expense and credit card process through Pleo. Review of reimbursement requests submissions to Revenue Commissioners analysis of claims for carbon offset reporting support to business to ensure submissions are correct & timely and responding to user queries on how to use the system.
  • Cash management including keeping up to date vendor payment forecasting.
  • Develop and maintain proactive working relationships with both internal departments and external stakeholders (auditors suppliers customers).
  • Participating in the statutory audit process as required including liaising with auditors & submission of audit requests.
  • Perform related adhoc accounts duties and projects as required by the Finance Accountant or Finance Manager.


WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

Experience Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of Accounts experience and knowledge of basic accounting systems Experience of Sun Systems an advantage.
  • Experience in accounts payable essential.
  • Experience in vendor cashflow management
  • Confident in ability to talk through and post journals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in their own work and in reviewing the work of others.
  • Proficient knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite especially Excel.
  • Excellent written organisational and interpersonal skills with strong focus on attention to detail.
