ROLE PURPOSE:

Leads & manages the Technical Services for continued airworthiness support; Engines, APUs, Nacelles & Structures. Primarily - ATAs 49,51,52,53,54,55,57,70 thru 80.

YOUR TASKS:

Customer:

  • Instigate and control the review and implementation of incoming FAA, AD’s and SB’s recommending to management the best course of Company action
  • Assessment of engineering requirements to enable efficient overhaul / repair of aircraft Power Plant / APU related components. (Requisitions and Quotations)
  • Along with Planning Dept, develop and manage base maintenance planning – for engines, APUs & nacelle components. Monitor on-wing life of engines/APU, via EHM, LLP Life limitations, AD limitations.
  • Full responsibility for Engine/APU Health Monitoring Program (EHM), compilation of engine/APU trend reports and recommendation of specific maintenance actions
  • Work with Materials Manager to comply with a consistent rotable part fleet standard.
  • Evaluation of potential engines/ APU’s/ nacelle components for procurement
  • Interface with Maintenance, Flight Operations and Management employees to support aircraft On-Time Performance standards.
  • Manage the company assets and its related components at all locations
  • Review maintenance reserve claims, support maintenance compensation calculations and lease return condition compliance.
  • Manage on- and off-lease engine and APU asset work scopes when required, subsequent shop reports and invoices.
  • Support the Engineering Manager in the review and negotiations of contract/agreement’s technical terms
  • Taking the necessary corrective actions resulting from quality audit discrepancies in the areas for which he is responsible.
  • Assume engineering projects in the capacity of a Technical Services Engineer.
  • Maintain and co-ordinate changes within the company’s manuals and ensuring that the procedures in the manuals are accurately complied with.
  • Through the Technical Services Engineers provide timely assistance to the Maintenance Manager with regards to hybrid trouble shooting and recurrent technical problems.
  • Assume the function of the Technical Services Engineer during TSE leave.
  • To deputize for the Engineering Manager when requested

Process:

  • Must be able to analyse and troubleshoot aircraft systems and engines.
  • Must be able to make timely and appropriate decisions based on problem solving ability and experience. Remains objective and co-ordinates with relevant departments, even when under pressure, to make a calculated decision with considerations given to safe ‘on time performance’ of the company fleet.
  • Must be able to prioritize work requirements based on maintaining aircraft in serviceable condition. Weekly staff meeting and briefing to discuss projects and to assist wherever possible. Attendance at Daily, Weekly and Monthly and Quarterly Technical meetings to assist the group.
