The following is a job description for a Mainframe System Programmer:

The Mainframe System Programmer will be responsible for installing maintaining and upgrading IBM and 3rd party products in a mainframe z/OS environment using SMP/E and zOSMF. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills as they will be required to engage with corporate partners and vendors. They will also need to coordinate across support teams to quickly resolve incidents and disruptions to technology services perform root cause analysis and take preventative measures. Additionally the candidate should proactively identify and address vulnerabilities across the technology environment work with vendors on hardware and software fixes and assist application development and support teams in delivering solutions.
