Plumbing Design Engineer

Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed plumbing layouts and schematics using AutoCAD software
• Conduct hydraulic and load calculations to ensure optimal system performance
• Collaborate with architects and construction teams to integrate plumbing systems into building designs
• Review and interpret plumbing codes and standards to ensure compliance
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for plumbing designs and specifications
• Perform site visits to assess plumbing system requirements and provide onsite support
• Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to select appropriate plumbing materials and equipment
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise on plumbing design matters
• Conduct design reviews and offer recommendations for improvements
• Manage project timelines budgets and resources related to plumbing design tasks
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in plumbing design and technology
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of plumbing systems with other building components
• Provide technical support to junior engineers and drafters
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all plumbing design activities
• Contribute to sustainable and energyefficient plumbing system designs

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Minimum of 67 years of experience in plumbing system design and engineering
• Proficiency in using AutoCAD and other relevant design software
• Thorough understanding of plumbing codes and regulations
• Excellent technical writing and communication skills
• Strong project management capabilities
• Ability to perform hydraulic calculations and system modeling
• Familiarity with sustainable and green plumbing design principles
• Experience with value engineering and costeffective design solutions
• Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) and its application to plumbing design
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
• Strong problemsolving and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy in design documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
