Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Head Chef for a client of ours based in Machynlleth.

Our client is Nestled in the beautiful Dovey Valley with the stunning scenery of the Welsh countryside plain to see from every aspect. This 15th Century Coaching Inn has recently undergone a transformation and reopened offering guests a choice of dining drinking and sleeping options as well as a function room suitable for large events and parties including weddings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As the Head Chef you are responsible for planning of menus.
  • Lead and supervise the kitchen staff providing guidance and support.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and adhere to all food safety regulations.
  • Manage food inventory ordering and stock control.
  • Create menus that accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Collaborate with the catering service provider to ensure smooth operations.
  • Monitor food costs and manage the budget effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef in a similar role.
  • Culinary qualifications and relevant certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
  • Creativity in menu planning and meal preparation.
  • A passion for delivering highquality meals

A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role in a quality fine dining establishment Knowledge of front of house, restaurant, bar, and cellar operations Excellent communication and leadership skills Strong customer service skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays Knowledge of food and beverage trends, and the ability to make recommendations based on customer preferences
