Operators in this position set up, operate and adjust shot peen equipment to form detail parts, wing skins, and webs to various contours, straighten and flatten high quality, close tolerance aircraft parts and materials.
Employment in this position also requires standing, twisting and bending at the waist, walking, handling, lifting less than 10 pounds, reaching, rotation of head/neck, contact with metals, exposure to noise and atmospheric conditions, and the use of personal safety gear for face/eye, hand/arm, ears and feet. Work assigned by shop load, area lead or supervisor based on priority requirements.
Review Work Order (W/O) to determine requirements of work to be performed.
Ensure that the correct type and quantity of parts/material were issued and that prior operations are complete.
Obtain and review appropriate drawings, Boeing (BAC) specifications and any other necessary documents to perform the job. Use on-line information systems (e.g., Bold/Web).
