Spatial Data Scientist

Location: Flexible with preference for candidates based in Australia (SydneyMelbournePerthAdelaideDarwin TasmaniaBrisbane Canberra)

Job Type: Fulltime Contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake a scan of existing coregistration software and identify potential candidates.
• Test the performance of candidate tools over areas of interest using singlescene temporal stacks from various satellite images.
• Develop workflows over an expanded area of interest and apply them to test sites.
• Document the performance of the workflow for each sensor over variable terrain types.
• Understand the performance and compute requirements of candidate software/workflows and write a feasibility report on their use at scale.

Key Deliverables and Acceptance:

• Engage regularly with project members through standups and other meetings.
• Provide a summary of existing coregistration software and identify key candidates for testing.
• Report on the performance over test areas.
• Deliver workflow/s over expanded areas of interest and apply them to test sites.
• Provide a feasibility report on applying candidate workflows at scale.

Requirements:

1. Technical Capability:
   • Experience developing code with Python.
   • Experience with applying algorithms and performing distributed processing over large datasets.
   • Experience with geometric manipulation and alignment of satellite imagery.
   • Experience with geospatial data (e.g. rasters).
   • Earth observation data analysis.
   • Effective communication skills.
   • Ability to deliver project deliverables and milestones to schedule.
2. Capacity:
   • Provide sufficient resources to meet the capability requirement within the specified timeframes.
   • Provide resumes for each proposed personnel demonstrating expertise to meet the requirement.
   • Full work rights to work in Australia
