Job Description

Overview:

The Ophthalmologist Phaco Surgeon plays a critical role in providing specialized eye care by performing phacoemulsification surgeries to address cataracts and other related conditions. They are essential in diagnosing treating and providing followup care for patients with various eyerelated issues contributing to the overall wellbeing and quality of life of individuals. Their expertise is crucial in maintaining the high standard of care and ensuring positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting comprehensive eye examinations to diagnose visual abnormalities and conditions.
  • Performing phacoemulsification surgeries to remove cataracts and restore vision.
  • Assessing patients medical histories and designing customized treatment plans.
  • Providing postoperative care and monitoring patients recovery progress.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize patient care outcomes.
  • Staying updated on the latest advances in ophthalmic research and technology.
  • Adhering to medical ethics and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Required Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
  • Residency training in ophthalmology from an accredited program.
  • Board certification in ophthalmology.
  • State medical license and DEA registration.
  • Demonstrated experience in performing phacoemulsification surgeries.
  • Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy physiology and pathology.
  • Excellent surgical and handeye coordination skills.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Empathy and compassion towards patients.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
