Job Description
- Produces manufacturing equipment and tooling designs that are feasible and economical to produce.
- Ensure all the equipment and tooling design compliance with IATF16949 and other quality, safety, environmental, manufacturing and customer standard requirements.
- Planning and executing mechanical designs using CAD, CAM, and 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks, Catia)
- Performing computer simulations and experiments to virtually test and refine the designs.
- Using CAD or AutoCad to analyze the existing tooling, equipment designs and improve on them.
- Provides alternative design solutions, analysis, justification, and recommendations at the concept stage.
- Analyzes engineering sketches, specifications and related data and drawings to determine design factors such as size, shape, and arrangement of parts.
- Sketches rough layouts and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, clearances, tolerances, and location of holes, etc.
- Reviews manufacturing equipment and tooling design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problems.
- Provides support and contributes to manufacturing performance and customer service by assisting in the solution of production or quality problems associated with design.
- Ensures equipment and tooling designs meet CAMACO requirements.
- Prepares interim and completion project reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
