Overview
The CAD Engineer plays a critical role in the design and development of various products and systems. They are responsible for creating and modifying detailed technical drawings using computeraided design (CAD) software ensuring the accuracy and feasibility of the designs and collaborating with the engineering team to translate concepts into finalized drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and modify CAD drawings based on specifications and requirements
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to understand project requirements
- Ensure that designs comply with industry and company standards
- Participate in design reviews and modify drawings based on feedback
- Develop detailed design documentation and reports
- Conduct design analysis and provide solutions for design issues
- Coordinate with external suppliers and manufacturers for design implementation
- Assist in prototyping and testing of designed components
- Manage and organize CAD files and documentation
- Stay updated with the latest CAD software and tools
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field
- Proven experience in using CAD software such as AutoCAD SolidWorks or similar tools
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and technical drawing standards
- Ability to interpret and execute complex design requirements
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail
- Experience in 3D modeling and creating assembly drawings
- Knowledge of material properties and manufacturing processes
- Effective communication and team collaboration abilities
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) systems
- Ability to work in a fastpaced and dynamic engineering environment
