Job Title: Accountant Credit Control

Reporting: Senior Accountant

Secondary Reporting: Head of Collections and Credit Control

Department: Credit Control

Leadership Level: Individual Contributor

Job Purpose: Perform debt collection by engaging customers via mails telephone; vet customers applications and perform accounts reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Undertake debtors followup via emails telephone and visits to achieve monthly collection targets.
   
2. Perform debtors reconciliations and issue monthly statements to customers.
   
3. Resolve disputes raised by customers and negotiate debt settlement plans.
   
4. Follow up on payment submission and track debt settlement commitments.
   
5. Reconcile bad debts before handover to debt collectors and recommend debt recovery actions.
   
6. Participate in vetting customers applications to minimize credit risks.
   
7. Prepare various monthly debtors reports and debtors management reports.
   

Requirements

Principal Outputs:

• Achieve DSO and collection targets.
  
• Meet collection targets.
  
• Ensure accurate and timely reconciliations.
  
• Process payments efficiently.
  

Qualifications:

• BSc in Finance/Accounting.
  
• Certified Credit Professional.
  
• Professional certification (CPA ACCA CIMA) recommended.
  

Experience:

• 3 years experience in credit department.
  
• Handson experience with accounting applications and Microsoft Excel.
