Job Description

ROLE PURPOSE!

We are looking for someone who is keen to develop their current skills and manage a busy depot in Soham. This is a trainee position starting at 25500 which will increase once fully trained. This is a fulltime and permanent position which comes with great perks.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING

Responsible for the preparation and the onsite delivery of our traffic light installations. The role requires you to manage a team of around 3 people ensuring they are suitably prepared to arrive at our clients site to complete our installation works within the set timescales.

As the supervisor whilst our installations are taking place your main priority is to ensure our Health & Safety procedures are followed with the aim of ensuring the safety of our teams our clients and the public always.

Although predominantly based out of Soham there will be a requirement to work in other areas of the country such as Northampton Coventry or Nottingham which may involve overnight stays.

WHAT DO WE LOOK FOR IN THIS ROLE

This role requires our teams to be flexible as the service we provide is available to our clients 24/7/365 days a year. As such this will involve you working days nights and occasional weekends. For this you will be paid an outofhours payment in addition to your basic salary.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • GCSEs in English and Mathematics
  • City and Guilds qualification or equivalent in highways installations
  • Sector 8 Accreditation Health and Safety qualifications including NRSWA G39 and ECS)
  • IT literate

Essential Experience:

  • The ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • The ability to work at heights
  • Full driving license No more than 6 points
  • Travel and stay away within the UK
  • The role will be 80/20 split between the site and depot work
  • Experienced in the supervision of onsite works
  • Competent in driving a company van and pickups up to 3.5 Ton in size
  • Competent in the towing of a trailer with plant equipment loaded
  • The ability to prioritizes their own and the activities of others
  • The ability to switch between tasks/projects
  • The ability to effectively influence onsite work activities

Desirable Experience:

  • CSCS card holder
  • IPAF Trained
  • Hold a NPOR competency card
  • Hold Forklift License
  • Attended or Attend a SSSTS
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of traffic signals theory (phases/stages/detection)
