Classification Specialist

• Determine the correct harmonized schedule number (HSN) and export classification numbers along with rationales for all Collins products.
• Performing technical assessments of Collins products using engineering drawings technical data sheets etc.
• Reviewing product descriptions such as function material specifications etc. with the help of Collins source systems to classify a product in accordance with the Indian customs tariff.
• Interpret Section Notes Chapters Notes and Explanatory Notes of the Harmonized Schedule.
• Communicate and interact with engineers to obtain the required technical information for products that must be classified.
• Provide technical writeups to justify Collins HSN classifications for products in response to queries from Indian Customs.

• Strong electronics electrical and/or mechanical background. Ideal candidate with have an Engineering degree.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in HS/HTS classifications. Ideal candidate will have experience classifying electronic goods.
• Strong knowledge of Section Chapter and explanatory notes of WCO Harmonized system.
• Strong communication skills (English Language) both verbal and written.
• Proficient with MS office applications such as Word Excel Outlook etc.
• Comfortable working with high paced environment.
