Job Description

Lakeside HR Group has been engaged to recruit for a Vice President Information Technology located in Atlanta Georgia. Within specific budgets the job holder is responsible for the direction management and coordination of all ITrelated activities in the company; with the aim of ensuring the maximum IT support for the achievement of short and longterm objectives. These responsibilities include planning and coordinating the physical layout of the network(s) as well as administration of desktop software on workstations. This job also provides limited application and software training to users as well as limited support for the telephone and voicemail system.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES AND TASKS:


Management of the department:

  • Lead and motivate personnel.
  • Manage effective use of assigned personnel and resources.
  • Ensure adherence to established policy and regulations.
  • Ensure effective and efficient communications within and from the department.
Management of the Information System:
  • Establishes plans and administers the overall policies and goals for the information technology department.
  • Safeguards information system assets by identifying and solving potential and actual security problems.
  • Protects system by defining access privileges control structures and resources.
  • Implements security improvements by assessing current situation; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.
  • Determines security violations and inefficiencies by conducting periodic audits.
  • Upgrades system by implementing and maintaining security controls.
  • Responsible for working with the CFO COO and IT Steering Committee to integrate newly acquired branches smoothly and efficiently.
  • Direct lead organize coordinate and control the management maintenance and testing of the administrative software applications with the aim of optimally supporting the internal administration.
  • Lead the research process and make recommendations for the purchase of upgraded/new applications for the business for the purpose of advancement of the Company.
  • Coordinate activities concerning the training advising and supporting of users in the uses of these applications.
  • Plan organize coordinate and control the operation maintenance and when necessary renewal of all IT equipment in the enterprise.
  • Analyzes the needs of different departments and determines ways to meet business objectives by modifying existing or developing new information processing systems.
  • Evaluate requests for hardware and software purchases; recommend purchases; direct the purchase of hardware and software within the set budget limits and according to the demands of users and in line with corporate directives.
  • Propose direct lead the implementation and control of applications for business processes with the aim of optimally supporting these business processes from IT standpoint
  • Direct the settingup of helpdesk activities that effectively and efficiently support users in the uses of these application.
  • Monitor and analyze changes in the IT market with the aim of expanding the IT resources with uptodate products and propose more costeffective operating alternatives.
  • Minimize network downtime.
  • Maintain viable backups of computer data on and offsite.
  • Establish maintain and periodically test the standard/universal system disaster recovery plan.
  • Ensure that all computers are functioning properly including offsite sales staff.
  • Ensure that all software being used is uniform and approved.
  • Provide enduser hardware and application support.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of all computers and printers.
  • Coordinate the maintenance of the telephone and voicemail systems.
  • Monitor the functioning of the network.
  • Prepare the IT department budget for the company.
  • Support and IT related audit requirements including ensuring the proper design and effectiveness of system controls SODs etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT related field from fouryear college or university preferred
Experience:
  • 15 years minimum related experience
  • 5 years management experience
