Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Paralegal to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in criminal law and litigation with a focus on providing comprehensive support to attorneys in all phases of criminal defense cases.
Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents including pleadings motions and briefs for criminal defense cases.
- Conduct legal research on case law statutes and regulations relevant to criminal matters.
- Coordinate with clients witnesses and law enforcement agencies to gather information and evidence for cases.
- Manage case files including organizing documents maintaining electronic records and tracking deadlines.
- Assist with trial preparation including witness preparation exhibit preparation and courtroom logistics.
- Draft correspondence subpoenas and other legal documents as needed.
- Provide administrative support to attorneys including scheduling appointments managing calendars and coordinating meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree and/or paralegal certificate from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal with a focus on criminal defense.
- Proficiency in legal research tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Detailoriented with a high level of accuracy in work product.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
