Registered Respiratory Therapist
Overview:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist plays a crucial role in providing care and treatment for patients with respiratory disorders. They work under the direction of physicians to provide therapeutic and diagnostic respiratory care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing and monitoring respiratory treatments
- Evaluating patient assessments and recommending appropriate respiratory therapy
- Conducting diagnostic testing
- Collaborating with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop patient care plans
- Responding to emergency situations and providing life support
- Ensuring patient comfort and safety during procedures
- Documenting patient care and treatment plans
- Providing patient and family education on respiratory disorders and treatments
- Maintaining respiratory therapy equipment
- Participating in quality improvement initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
- Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
- Valid state respiratory therapy license
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
- Strong knowledge of respiratory therapy principles and practices
- Experience working in a clinical setting
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
