Job Brief:

The firm currently seeks a Legal Secretary/Litigation Assistant to join their dynamic and closeknit legal team at a small yet influential personal injury law firm where you'll have the unparalleled opportunity to immerse yourself in every aspect of the litigation and client service process. This role offers a unique chance to be actively involved in trials alongside their attorneys acting as a litigation assistant and also allows you to engage in various facets of the practice taking on roles akin to a legal secretary or office manager. Responsibilities:

  • Perform receptionist duties including answering phones and managing front desk responsibilities.
  • Handle scheduling and file management tasks efficiently.
  • Order and track medical records.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is ideal for effective communication but not mandatory.
  • Demonstrate the ability to gather information and present it concisely and coherently; experience in organizing and presenting information particularly in requesting and chronologizing medical records and documents.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Follow cases from initiation to conclusion learning each step initially and subsequently independently managing the process.
  • Draft pleadings request medical records and engage in professional correspondence with clients and other counsel.
  • Strong email communication and professional writing skills are essential.
  • The ability to adapt and learn from provided examples demonstrating intelligence and initiative in executing tasks.

Background and Qualifications Needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in technology and adaptable to different software/tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment.
  • Demonstrates a learner/growthoriented mindset.
  • Detailoriented and highly organized.
  • While prior experience in a legal practice is ideal it is not mandatory.
  • Willingness to work in a small practice environment.
