Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Research Associate to join our international research team based in Leuven Belgium. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the daily activities at the animal facility including conducting experiments handling mice tissue processing and supporting various aspects of our oncology translational research linked to our clinical programs. Collaborating closely with our crossfunctional team of scientists youll contribute significantly to the advancement of innovative cancer therapies
Responsibilities
- Execute in vivo experiments following established protocols including tumor implantation tumor measurement using calipers administering treatments and monitoring animal health.
- Handle laboratory animals with care and in compliance with ethical guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to daily laboratory management including inventory management equipment maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate laboratory records using an electronic lab notebook system reports and presentations.
- Collect samples (blood tumors and organs)and prepare them for FACS and molecular analysis.
- Collaborate with fellow researchers to plan and execute experiments effectively.
- Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the laboratory workspace.
Profile
- Bachelors degree in laboratory technology biotechnology life sciences or related field.
- FELASA B certificate
- Experience working with laboratory mice preferably in an oncology research setting.
- Proficiency in mice handling techniques including injections blood collection and tissue sampling.
- Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and procedures
- Experience with FACS staining and acquisition and/or in histology (e.g. tissue processing immunostaining and imaging) will be an advantage.
- Fluency in English (verbally and in writing) is mandatory.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Belgium.
