Job Description

Summary:
The Accounting Manager oversees accounting and financial functions providing support to the Controller with minimal supervision. They guide accounting personnel ensure accurate financial records and contribute to cost reduction and revenue enhancement initiatives. This role embodies personal accountability initiative and teamwork.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reconcile company bank and credit accounts.
  • Monthly reconciliation of general ledger and balance sheet accounts.
  • Delegate financial responsibilities and provide guidance to the accounting team.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve revenue.
  • Manage credit and collection processes ensuring timely funds collection.
  • Maintain uptodate business licenses and city registrations.
  • Prepare and submit state Sales Tax returns.
  • Assist with COI/W9 update and compliance activities.
  • Supervise accounting team employees and provide coverage as needed.
  • Support closing activities including journal and schedule preparation.
  • Regularly review and reconcile AR and AP ledgers.
  • Assist with check preparation and distribution.
  • Aid in cashflow projections and forecasting.
  • Handle external requests including audits insurance and taxes.
  • Process bank exceptions and review virtual employee credit cards.
  • Review employee expense claims and coordinate with Department VPs.
  • Provide support to the Controller as required.

Qualifications:

  • Strong management and supervisory skills.
  • Proficient knowledge of GAAP and US accounting standards laws and regulations.
  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Construction accounting experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with SAGE 300 CRE Timberscan Procure Textura and Acumatica advantageous.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office accounting software and databases.
  • Excellent math analysis problemsolving and data entry skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with a sense of urgency.
  • Initiative punctuality and professionalism.
