Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced Tax candidate to join its growing Tax Department based in Bangalore. The company is a leading infrastructure construction company operating mainly throughout North America across a range of industries. The Company s primary activities include the engineering building installation maintenance and upgrade of communications energy utility and other infrastructure such as: power delivery services including transmission and distribution wireless wireline/fiber and customer fulfillment activities; power generation primarily from clean energy and renewable sources; pipeline infrastructure including natural gas pipeline and distribution infrastructure; heavy civil; and industrial infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
The position will support the entire US tax department as a whole (primarily our Seniors Managers and Senior Manager). There will be contact with a wide variety of members of several Service Lines (operating business units) at both nonmanager and highlevel manager roles and thus requires strong interpersonal and communication skills. The position will work as a team member with other Senior Tax team and will cross train to cover a wide variety of tax tasks (primarily fixed asset and tax return preparation related).
They will be responsible for three primary areas: a) Reconciling fixed assets monthly b) preparing simple state tax returns c) various other tax reconciliations that may come up.
The reconciliation of fixed assets involves reconciling/analyzing/verifying monthly activity (disposals additions transfers etc.) to the trial balance as well as reconciling/analyzing/verifying the fixed asset gain/loss account to the trial balance. These must be reconciled before we send them to be uploaded into our tax software system (DART). You will not be uploading or working in the tax depreciation software since a 3rd party handles that for us. Your job is to reconcile fixed asset information before it goes into the tax depreciation software and then verify the tax depreciation software is correct after it has been uploaded.
The preparation and review of simple state and city tax filings. Task only happens for a few months of the year. You will be responsible for updating workpapers and preparing/reviewing tax returns in OneSource.
In response to tax audits or quarterly reporting requirements you can help us with various other tax reconciliations.
This professional must be a strong team player and be willing to perform a multitude of tasks that require both higher and lower levels of experience and skills. Potential responsibilities and duties could expand beyond those listed below and could vary based on skill sets within the accounting team and current
department needs.
These functions include but are not limited to:
Analyzing/Reconciling/verifying monthly fixed asset activity
Preparing state and city tax returns in OneSource.
Manage and assist with ad hoc queries from internal customers (including Executive Management).
Performs other duties as assigned and directed.
Essential Qualification and Skills:
MBA /CMA/ CPA certified with min 60% marks in Graduation.
24 years of progressive work experience with public accounting experience. Prior experience in a large public accounting firm and supporting U.S. business of min 2 year is strongly preferred.
Have strong and proven proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (excel & OneSource are a requirement. Microsoft PowerBi is a plus).
Demonstrate they can deliver very detailed work product.
Must demonstrate competency with US income taxes.
Must possess superior communication organization and time management skills.
Must be able to lead team.
Be able to timely accurately and fully complete assigned tasks and projects including followup.
Have exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Be a creative and proactive problem solver.
