Job Summary
This Companys New Energies (NE) organization was established to help achieve the companys low carbon ambitions; meet its decarbonization targets; and develop its production shipping and marketing of low carbon hydrogen and ammonia. NE has so far consolidated into Renewables Hydrogen and Carbon Capture & Storage verticals with the broad vision to nurture robust and sustainable global businesses by capitalizing on emerging opportunities in strategic growth markets. The Shipping Development Specialist is an integral part of the Shipping Team within NEs Hydrogen Department.
The Shipping Development Specialist is responsible for: developing shipping and chartering strategies; ammonia fleet development activities; program economics; as well as analyzing planning and implementing This Companys shipping plans through direct engagement with ship operators to establish long term time charters. This important role will also interact with internal stakeholders to ensure maximum value capture for the This Company group.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor marine market trends analyzing and defining short and longterm marine transportation options to develop optimal product delivery strategies.
- Identify optimal vessels negotiate rates and short and longterm charter party terms.
- Define all commercial and contractual details for negotiated charter party terms.
- Develop and provide market research on vessel availability and freight economics terminal projects and shipping competitors.
- Coordinate closely with schedulers to nominate tonnage in a manner that will optimize system freight costs minimize demurrage and ensure timely delivery of cargoes.
- Communicate and liaise with shipowners and utility companies and network and maintain relationships with market players to keep abreast of market developments and opportunities.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to build a fundamental shipping model in order to enable strategy decisions.
- Coordinate analyze and prepare transportation plan documents ensuring quality and completion.
- Coordinate and analyze shipping operations expenses calculation and review covering fuelbunker and ship maintenance.
- Coordinate monitor and analyze fuel bunker consumption ship maintenance drydocking and activity to ensure all processes are completed effectively.
- Coordinate and analyze the consolidation of information and reports on issues during loading sailing and discharging to ensure availability of timely reports.
- Coordinate and participate in compatibility studies between ship and shore for buyers terminal to ensure all requirements and conditions are incorporated for effective and efficient shipping operations.
Requirements:
- This role required candidate to permanently relocate at Dhahran Saudi Arabia.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering Business Economics or related discipline; an MBA or a relevant advanced degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 15 years of professional experience in commercial shipping roles with a proven track record of negotiation of longterm charter party agreements.
- Proven ability to analyze market data develop models use derivatives and identify commercial opportunities.
- Proven effective negotiating skills and commercial judgment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with multinational teams.
