Job Description
Responsibilities:
Planning and Design:
o Lead the planning and design of highly scalable and secure Viptela SDWAN architectures for multisite multicloud and global network deployments.
o Deeply understand and translate complex business requirements into detailed technical designs considering factors like traffic prioritization redundancy strategies security policies multitenancy segmentations etc.
o Apply your extensive knowledge of advanced and latest Viptela features and functionalities like Transit Gateway Cloud Exchange Fabric and MultiSite/ Multi Cloud solutions integrations with 3rd party solutions.
o Develop comprehensive documentation of designs including network diagrams configuration guides and testing plans that adhere to industry best practices.
Deployment and Implementation
o Independently lead the deployment and implementation of largescale Viptela SDWAN solutions utilizing automation tools and scripts to ensure consistency and efficiency.
o Configure and manage multitiered Viptela vEdge deployments leveraging advanced routing protocols and path selection mechanisms for optimal performance and reliability.
o Integrate Viptela SDWAN with diverse network environments and applications including security solutions on prem/public cloud platforms and onpremises infrastructure.
o Conduct rigorous testing and validation to guarantee the smooth functioning security and performance of all SDWAN configurations.
Troubleshooting and Support
o Serve as the goto expert for troubleshooting complex network issues not limited to Viptela SDWAN solutions but also for underlying WAN networks.
o Ability to utilize advanced tools and techniques like vAnalytics troubleshooting logs and packet captures.
o Analyze network telemetry data performance metrics and security logs to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users.
o Provide highlevel technical support to internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of Viptela SDWAN acting as a trusted advisor and problem solver.
o Stay ahead of the curve by continuously learning about the latest Viptela software releases features and best practices through technical certifications and industry engagements.
Additional Responsibilities:
o Share your extensive knowledge by mentoring junior engineers conducting internal training sessions and contributing to the development of a robust knowledge base specifically focused on Cisco Viptela SDWAN.
o Actively seek opportunities to optimize existing Viptela SDWAN deployments suggesting and implementing performance security and costefficiency improvements.
o Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the team by actively participating in knowledge sharing initiatives and staying updated on industry trends.
Qualifications:
9 years of demonstrably successful experience as an L3 Network Engineer with a deep specialization in Cisco Viptela SDWAN technology. (preferred)
Proven track record of planning designing deploying and troubleshooting complex Viptela SDWAN solutions for largescale enterprise environments.
Expertlevel understanding of Cisco Viptela architecture configuration features and best practices including vManage Smart Deploy and advanced routing protocols.
Strong grasp of networking protocols and technologies relevant to SDWAN (e.g. BGP OSPF EIGRP QoS).
Superior troubleshooting and problemsolving skills with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex Viptelaspecific network issues efficiently.
Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills coupled with a proactive and resultsoriented approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team leading and collaborating effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Possession of a valid Cisco Professional Certification (e.g. CCNP Enterprise CCIE) is a strong plus.
