Overview:

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye conditions
• Provide prescriptions for eyeglasses or contact lenses
• Diagnose and manage various eye diseases and disorders
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated patient care
• Offer pre and postoperative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries
• Monitor and manage vision therapy or rehabilitation programs
• Advise patients on proper eye care practices and ocular health maintenance
• Perform specialized tests to evaluate ocular health and function
• Document patient records and maintain accurate clinical notes
• Stay updated with advancements in optometric practices and technologies

Required Qualifications:

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution
• Licensure to practice optometry in the designated location
• Proven experience in conducting comprehensive eye examinations and vision assessments
• Strong knowledge of ocular diseases conditions and treatment options
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and tools for eye health evaluation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare setting
• Detailoriented with a focus on accurate recordkeeping and documentation
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education in optometry
