Job Purpose
The objective of this role is to conduct financial valuation and duediligence in potential investments being reviewed by Banks startup Fund. This would involve actively scouting for investment opportunities conducting industry analysis undertaking competition analysis and monitoring key metrics.
The role of the investment associate would require to:
- Scout for potential investments and coinvestors across sectors
- Liaise with business teams to validate potential
- Prepare financial models including industry competition and comparable analysis to prepare the IC note for proposed investments
- Assist in IC meeting & approval process coordinate with internal and external legal teams to execute the funding documents
Monitor and report the investments
Job Responsibilities:
- Scout for potential investments and coinvestors across sectors
Scouting
- Scout for investment opportunities from varied sources including our startup banking portfolio startups working with the bank references from partners
- Build and manage relationships with other coinvestors
- Prepare financial model including industry competition and comparable analysis to prepare the IC note for proposed investments
Analysis
- Prepare comprehensive information memorandum to evaluate the potential investment to include valuing the company industry prospects competitive landscape and
- Liaise with business teams to validate potential
- Prepare IC note to evaluate pros cons returns and risks in proposed/ analyzed investment opportunity.
- Investment Documentation and closing
- On approval by IC coordinate with internal and external legal teams to execute the funding documents.
Monitor and scale the investments
Portfolio Management
- Once Bank has invested in a company we should work closely to help the business scale through our corporate connect and other valueadded initiatives
We would monitor the investments made for any buy/sell triggers and exit opportunities.
Educational Qualifications:
MBAs/Masters from Tier 1 university (preferred Investment Management/CFA/Finance).
