Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides direction to maintenance staff & promotes compliance with Company objectives.
- Tracks analyzes and improves key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization maintenance costs and PM compliance.
- Ensures that all mandatory maintenance programs are followed.
- Maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders spare parts and maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Constantly reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime solve problems on time and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Performs upgrades and/or changes to equipment if necessary.
- Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts maintenance supplies and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
- Assists with planning and implementing plant improvements and expansions.
- Completes all necessary paperwork on time.
- Ensures city state and federal regulations relating to the maintenance department are met always.
- Participates in all internal and external audits.
- Manages the department function and processes.
- Manages department for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company and contributions in attaining objectives.
- Oversees the work activities and professional training and development of direct and indirect reports.
- Works with Management to attain goals carry out strategies plans and policies to increase profitability and success of the Company.
- Enhances implements and enforces policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
- Assists in developing and carrying out the department s goals objectives and systems.
- Assists in creating department s policies and procedures.
- Assists in creating the department s budget and works within established parameters.
- Conducts interviews appraisal performances on boarding and disciplinary meetings including terminations.
- Approves payroll and amends Source Time errors for hourly employees.
- Fills out appropriate paperwork i.e. hiring termination replacement performance evaluations accident reports vacation requests and counseling forms.
- Monitors employee s adherence to company rules and policies and takes necessary corrective action if needed.
- Is responsible for reviewing and maintaining crewing levels and optimizing to meet or surpass NPF cost targets.
- Suggests ways to control labor and supply costs as well as improve processes.
- Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Participates in sensory training and evaluation to help ensure the highest quality of our products.
- Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accidentfree workplace.
- Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safetyrelated issues to Management.
- Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
- Bachelor s Degree (B.S.) in an Engineering discipline Operations Management or other related fields (preferred)
- Ten (10) years Maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years Management experience.
- Previous experience in a food facility preferred.
- Possess indepth knowledge in repairs and maintenance of processing equipment and systems within a food manufacturing facility.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules procedures manuals operating and maintenance instructions blueprints schematics and equipment manuals.
- Ability to establish trust and credibility with employees.
- Ability to influence and promote change on all levels of the organization.
- Sound technical skills logical ability and strong problem analysis and resolutions skills with a strong operational focus.
- A decisive individual who possesses a "big picture" perspective and is well versed in systems.
- Knowledge understanding and positioning of market trends that impact the food business.
- Knowledge of contracting negotiating and change management.
- Ability to demonstrate discretion and business ethics.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Skill in examining and reengineering operations and procedures.
- Ability to gather and analyze all types of data identify the appropriate relationships between the different data anticipate business directions and make factbased decisions.
- Prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously with aggressive deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal as well as strong written and oral communications skills.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
- A good educator who is trustworthy and willing to share information and serve as a mentor
