Job Title: Education Counselor

Department: Student Affairs / Admissions

Reports To: Director of Student Affairs / Admissions Manager

Job Overview: The Education Counselor serves as a guide and mentor to prospective and current students providing them with the necessary resources and advice to succeed in their academic journey. This role involves understanding individual student needs offering guidance on program selection and supporting students through the admissions process and their educational careers. The goal is to facilitate a supportive constructive and ethical educational environment and to ensure students make informed decisions about their academic paths.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Student Counseling:
   

   • Conduct oneonone counseling sessions to understand student aspirations strengths and limitations.
     
   • Provide information about the institutions academic programs admission procedures and financial aid opportunities.
     
   • Assist students in setting realistic academic and career goals and developing a plan to achieve them.
     

2. Admissions Support:
   

   • Guide students through the application and enrollment process.
     
   • Review student applications conduct interviews and provide recommendations on admission decisions.
     

3. Program Promotion:
   

   • Participate in educational fairs school visits and other promotional events to represent the institution and its programs.
     
   • Develop and maintain relationships with high schools educational partners and other community organizations.
     

4. Resource Coordination:
   

   • Coordinate with faculty financial aid and administrative staff to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
     
   • Provide or direct students to academic resources tutoring services or personal counseling services as needed.
     

5. Record Maintenance:
   

   • Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
     
   • Track student progress and provide reports and statistics to school management as required.
     

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Education Counseling Psychology or related field; a Master s degree is preferred.
  
• Proven experience as an Education Counselor or in a similar role.
  
• Strong understanding of the education system academic programs and career paths.
