Junior Post Harvest Technician Trials Research Product Quality Blueberries

• Manage trials specific to postharvest quality focus.
  
• Develop and follow trial protocols.
  
• Ensure accurate data collection for all trials associated research or projects.
  
• Conduct quality evaluations for all trials and projects.
  
• Present trials to growers and wider business.
  
• Attend meetings symposiums and conferences as required.
  
• Investigate and research different avenues on previous trials.
  

• Postseason analysis of quality issues working with direct team members and additional teams to find key reasons for success and failure amongst the grower base.
  
• Develop plans and avenues of investigation into product quality improvement accuracy.
  
• Assisting the product quality team with adhoc project implementation.
  

Requirements

• Post Graduate diploma/degree in Agriculture (Quality/ Disease management/ Horticulture/ Plant Pathology).
  
• Minimum 2 years of work experience in the fruit industry.
  
• Experience in research and development environment working with large data sets analyzing and interpreting.
  
• Horticultural practices and a technical understanding of fruit production functions specifically blueberries.
  
• Understanding of postharvest fruit quality processes.
  

• Essential Valid drivers license.
  
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  
• Strong peoplemanagement relationship building and interpersonal relations skills.
  
• Strong computer literacy: MS Office (Excel Word PowerPoint).
  
• Excellent communication skills; verbal and written.
  
• Ability to function independently.
  
• Ability to achieve deadlines whilst working under pressure
  
• Strong numerical and statistical interpretation skills
  
• Proactive thinking ability to think outside the box
  
• Ability to work with people at various levels from farm labour to board members and investors
