About the Role
We are developing a new Clubhouse at Gunnersbury Park which will incorporate a social caf and learning and activity space. The space will complement our stadium hub adjacent to Brentfords Gtech stadium.

This is an exciting opportunity to develop a community caf and be part of creating a space that will provide opportunities for the local community. As well as developing a diverse and engaging range of programs at our Community Stadium Hub.

About You
We are looking for a creative imaginative and energetic individual who can lead a team of people develop partnerships and programmes and deliver impactful events across our Hub sites. Creating a new vibrant caf means that the successful candidate will have appropriate experience from the catering industry. You will also have experience manging a team using your own initiative and good project management skills.


Brentford FC Community Sports Trust

With community work spanning three decades Brentford FC Community Sports Trust has established itself as a pioneering organisation for the local community. It uses the power of sport to educate motivate and inspire people from all walks of life.

Working in partnership with Brentford FC the Trust offers a portfolio of programmes in education health sports participation and community engagement. The Trust has won the Football League Community Club of the Year award four times and now employs more than 100 members of staff. The Trust is forecasting further significant expansion over the next two years following its appointment as a key partner in the redevelopment of Gunnersbury Park as a sports hub and its move to new larger purposebuilt premises directly adjacent to the new Brentford FC 17500 capacity stadium near Kew Bridge in 2021.

Main Purpose of Job

We are looking for a creative imaginative and energetic individual who can lead a team of people develop partnerships and programmes and deliver impactful events across our Hub sites (Gunnersbury Park and Community Stadium Hub) Creating a new vibrant caf means that the successful candidate will have appropriate experience from the catering industry.

This role has been developed through funding from The Premier League and PFA fund with the specific aim of creating positive sustainable social outcomes through running community projects in accessible inspiring environments.

This new role combines creativity with operational responsibility as we aim to maximise the social outcomes from these new community spaces building a sustainable financial base for further development. Initially you will have the objective of building up activity at the stadium hub whilst working as part of a team to create the new park hub. Once the park hub known as the Clubhouse Concept is running you will be responsible for its effective operation.

We will be working with our partners The University of West London (UWL) to create engaging events and provide exciting work and project experience opportunities. We also will be working with the Charity Change Please to install a west London training academy for homeless people or people on the edge of homelessness creating employment opportunities in the caf.

The new space is within the Gunnersbury Park Sports Hub Popes Lane W3. It is a bright perfectly positioned space that includes an outdoor area. We aim to fully utilise the space operating a vibrant Clubhouse comprising of a caf and an inspiring space for learning training and entertaining.

Our Hubs will provide an accessible and inclusive community space and we expect to support and engage with diverse service users. This will include children and adults at risk therefore safeguarding and keeping our sites safe is a key responsibility for this role. These groups may include:

  • Children and young people
  • People with disabilities
  • People who need more support with their mental health including those who are in the process of reintegrating into the community.
  • Families and individuals experiencing poverty homelessness and facing economic hard times.
  • Older people who might be isolated inactive or suffering with dementia.

This is a unique role that requires a combination of creativity and business acumen with people skills. The opportunity is to build a sustainable model that creates lasting impact for people in our surrounding communities.

Responsibilities

Clubhouse and Community Stadium:

  • To develop create and implement the Clubhouse social caf
  • Oversee and manage the growth of a social business using an innovative approach.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Business Services to manage expenditure for the Clubhouse social caf and Community Stadium Hub.
  • Plan a a diverse range of programming within the spaces with the aim to create social impact through offering employment training and mentoring coupled with focus events.
  • Build positive relationships with external and internal partners.
  • Link with other Trust and Club hubs to maximise impact and opportunity.
  • Develop complementary social programmes.
  • Manage the delivery of funding KPIs set out on the Premier League PFA Community
  • Fund funding agreement. This will relate to development milestones and social outcomes from targeted projects.
People Management
  • Lead a team to manage the daytoday running and operation of the Clubhouse social caf and Community stadium hub.
  • Develop and coach the team to provide an efficient effective and interpersonal service.

Safeguarding

  • Stay informed about safeguarding policies procedures and best practices.
  • Actively seek opportunities to enhance safeguarding measures and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to create a cohesive approach to safeguarding.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents concerns and actions taken.
  • Effectively communicate with staff clients and visitors to promote a culture of safety and awareness.
  • Handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality especially regarding individuals personal details and concerns.
