Job Description

Purpose of the Job:

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of the business strategy through insightful actuarial analysis.
  • Fulfill regulatory responsibilities and ensure policyholders interests are protected.
  • Transform the function to be more insightled using technology automation and sophisticated analytical techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development updating and maintenance of actuarial data sources.
  • Identify opportunities for improved data use and more insightful actuarial analysis.
  • Contribute to quarterly and yearend solvency capital requirement calculations.
  • Contribute to the production of QRTs and outputs for financial reporting.
  • Assist in developing an effective capital management framework including economic capital modelling and risk optimisation.
  • Contribute to quarterly and yearend reserving calculations.
  • Monitor insurance schemes including monthly loss ratio analysis.
  • Develop and embed processes to ensure factor reserves and earning patterns are robust.
  • Implement and embed the use of actuarial software within the reserving process.

Other Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the production of documented actuarial outputs for signoff by the Chief Actuary and relevant committees.
  • Automate processes for data preparation transformation and reporting.
  • Support reinsurer requests for data and respond promptly.
  • Maintain professional qualifications and fulfill CPD requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Studying towards a Fellowship of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA) or equivalent actuarial exams.
  • Significant nonlife insurance modeling experience.
  • Analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive autonomous and able to deputize for their manager when required.
