Design Engineer

• Work with sales representatives to develop and create drawings for proposals.
  
• Design proposed electronic systems in final form.
  
• Responsible for timely completion of drawings.
  
• Responsible for efiling of all project submittal data and drawings.
  
• Develop templates to provide to subcontractors showing roughin requirements for conduit and wire.
  
• Answer electrical contractor questions as required.
  
• Travel may be required from time to time.
  
• Assist and support company technicians in the field with project information.
  
• Obtain CAD files from architects engineers or electrical contractors
  

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
  
• Degree in related field preferrerd
  
• Certification from an accredited CAD program preferred
  
• High Technical aptitude
  
• At least 1 year experience with security and fire systems
  
• Must be able to obtain specified license/certifications to perform work in the security/fire alarm industry according to the rules and regulations prescribed by the State in which the branch operates.
  
• Valid driver s license and good driving record.
  
• Must understand and use battery drop and voltage drop calculation software.
  
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
  
• Ability to read analyze and interpret general business periodicals professional journals technical procedures blueprints and project specifications fire codes and/or government regulations
  
• Strong mathematical and problem solving skills
