Supply Chain & Retail Division

Supply Chain Services provides both pre-wholesale and wholesale distribution of pharmaceutical, healthcare and animal health products to pharmacies and hospital nationwide. The business supports a diverse customer base through the provision of strong service levels coupled with innovative commercial initiatives. In addition, the business provides services and supports that help independent community pharmacy to compete more effectively in an increasingly difficult environment and runs a network of Uniphar-owned pharmacies under the Life, Allcare and Hickeys symbol brands.

Role Responsibilities

  • Business Development: Identify, evaluate, and pursue business opportunities within the target countries and markets.

  • Key Account Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients including UN organizations, NGOs, Ministries of Health, Central Medical stores, distributors and other potential clients.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies to expand market share and achieve revenue targets.

  • Negotiation and Contract Management: Lead negotiations and oversee contract agreements with clients.

  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, needs, and competitor activities.

  • Client and stakeholder engagement: Travel internationally to meet with existing and potential clients and explore business opportunities.

  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Key Skills & Experiences

  • Proven track record with 6+ years of relevant experience in sales and business development within the pharmaceutical, medical, or aid & development sector.

  • Relationship Management: Exceptional interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans aligned with business objectives.

  • Communication Skills: Strong presentation, negotiation, and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and proposals.

  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of the aid and development sector, its challenges, and emerging trends.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing market dynamics and navigate complex environments.

  • Team Collaboration: Capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

Key Interactions

  • Internal: Interact closely with the Aid and Development business unit, collaborating with marketing, operations, quality affairs and senior management.

  • External: Engage with clients, partners, industry organizations, and relevant stakeholders to drive business growth and partnerships.

Desirables

  • Proficiency in French is preferred.

  • Experience with Ministries of Health, Central Medical Stores, distributors, agents and other regional partners in Africa is a plus.

Location

  • The role is based in the EU or UK.

  • The role be done remotely and/or at one of our offices in London (UK), Dublin (IR) or Lelystad (NL) with travel to clients and conferences as required.
