Senior MongoDB Engineer

Client: Eliassen/ Leidos SSA

Location: Woodlawn MD (hybrid: 2 days per week onsite)

Duration: 12 months; likely longterm extensions (5 year project)

Main Skills:

MongoDB Community Edition (opensource) experience

Design develop automate the MongoDB database.

Experience with scripting in shell and python.

Experience with Ansible.

Experience with AWS (EC2 RDS S3)

Job Description:

Key Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of Mongo Community Edition on Linux MongoDB architecture and experience with scripting automation

Position Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to learn new skills embed with a team solicit ideas and feedback and have good communication skills and on a daytoday basis perform the following:

Automate and maintain MongoDB databases and infrastructure using Community Edition on Linux.

Attend all customer technical discussions/design/development meetings and provide technical inputs to further enhance the code quality/process.

Provide guidance/support to other junior/midlevel developers.

Impact functional strategy by developing new solutions processes standards or operational plans that position Leidos competitively in the marketplace.

All other duties as assigned or directed.

Skills Requirements:

FOUNDATION FOR SUCCESS (Basic Qualifications)

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Mathematics Engineering or a related field.

Masters or Doctorate degree may substitute for required experience.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.

5 years of experience with MongoDB Community Edition on Linux.

Excellent communication skills.

*** Selected candidate must reside within two (2) hours of SSA Headquarters in Woodlawn MD

*** Selected candidate must be willing to work onsite at least 2 days a week.

Excellent communication and written skills.

Handson experience with Mongo Community edition.

Familiar with Mongo internals and how Mongo works outside of a GUI environment.

Designing building and automating the Infrastructure for MongoDB Community Edition.

Experience in using Python Ansible or similar methods to automate infrastructure tasks.

Experience with Shell Scripting.

Knowledge of MongoDB architecture.

Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.

Experience with modern development software tools and methodologies.

Previous work in DevOps Environments.

Experience working with AWS database services including RDS EC2 S3

Candidate should be able to work independently as well as in a team.

Education:

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Mathematics Engineering or a related field with 7 years of experience

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust. Contract requirement.
