Position Summary

The Operations Manager provides overall leadership for the safe reliable legally compliant environmentally sound and profitable manufacture of products at this plant according to the strategy of business management. A key accountability is the continuous improvement of site performance for development and future growth.

Operations ManagerSpecific Duties

  • Leadership and Management:
  • Provide leadership guidance and decisionmaking support.
  • Manage personnel including performance evaluation compensation succession planning and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and state/federal laws.

Responsibilities

SHE Excellence (Safety Health and Environmental Excellence):

  • Uphold the 20 principles of process and behavioral safety.
  • Serve as the Asset Manager maintaining preparedness for site emergencies and ensuring assets are operated and maintained within designed parameters.
  • Implement robust safety work systems and conduct hazard assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and demonstrate improvements towards SHE targets.

Fixed and Capital Expenditure Management:

  • Manage and deliver on budgeted controllable fixed costs and variable efficiencies.
  • Identify and execute improvement opportunities in expenses.
  • Assess and deliver on capital expenditure requirements and project outcomes.

Reliability and LongTerm Competitiveness:

  • Achieve production reliability targets and use data for improvement plans.
  • Meet quality and production volume targets.
  • Contribute to site strategy and collaborate with commercial and R&D teams for new opportunities.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Education: Bachelors degree in engineering.
  • Experience:
  • Over 10 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Previous role as an area Superintendent or similar to understand the operating environment.
  • Leadership experience to demonstrate required competencies.
  • Preferred experience working in a union environment.
