Job Description
JOB TITLE: Estimator / Project Manager
Location: Santa Clarita California
Responsibilities:
Estimating and managing civil engineering projects for earthwork earthretention shoring systems deep foundations and ground improvements.
Thorough knowledge of project plans drawings specifications and geotechnical reports.
Conduct site inspections to assess conditions and construction logistics.
Perform project prequalifications as needed. Gather and assess vendor and subcontractor quotations.
Prepare quantity takeoffs cost estimates bid proposals and budgets.
Perform designbuild calculations and modeling.
Review and negotiate construction scope of work documents and contracts.
Prepare project submissions RFIs and timelines.
Purchase and schedule specialist equipment and materials. Create project draft billings and modification orders.
Provide project asbuilt drawings and necessary closing papers.
Establish and maintain a good working relationship with clients and ownership.
Collaborate with field superintendents and foremen to ensure project quality control and cost management.
Qualifications:
Expertise in using project management software and tools including Word Excel and Outlook.
Hold a bachelors degree in civil engineering construction management or a similar profession.
At least 3 years of comparable experience in civil or geotechnical engineering.
Project management experience: 2 years (preferred).
Strong communication abilities both written and spoken.
Preferred experience with Agtek AutoCAD.
Strong mathematical and analytical ability. Ability to travel to many job sites.
Valid drivers license.
Basic grasp of building tools and techniques.
