Teacher of Computer Science

The Data yst will be responsible to yse and interpret data to ist functional areas with decision making. The Data yst will be key in the delivery of the Data & ytics vision throughout the business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

ist in the interpretation of functional data ytics across functional areas to identify insightful trends and information to support decision making.

Obtain the ytics needs of the functional areas and to ist in the delivery of reporting and dashboard solution within agreed time frames.

Identify new or improved reporting ods and techniques on an ongoing basis as required by the business.

Work closely with system managers and subject matter experts to ensure alignment to company systems strategy and delivery in accordance with the Data strategy.

Support the overall Data strategy for the business by isting with key deliverables as per the strategic intent and within agreed timeframes.

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

Experience required:

o 2-3 years report writing experience, as well as experience in preprating statistics and data visualisations relevant to the business function

o 2-3 years data ysis experience, interpreting trends in the business and identifying opportunities or risks

o 2-3 years experience in working on PowerBI o 2-3 years experience working within a retail environment

o 2-3 years experience in working with BI tools (Qlik and Power BI)

QUALIFICATIONS:

Qualifications required:

o BSc in Computer Science or similar

REQUIRED:

Coordinating and persuasion ss

Managing multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

Fluent in MS Office products

Business Intelligence visualisations practices

Strong ytical ss

Interpretation of business ytics needs into specification doents

The ability to identify trends using data

The ability to compile visualisations and reports that can reflect relevant business KPIs

The ability to incorporate external data with internal data to arrive at conclusions

Excellent written and verbal ss

Customer and service orientation

Excellent presentation ss to all levels of the business

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

An understanding of SQL or similar coding/scripting techniques

An understanding of retail metrics and KPIs

Understanding of economics within SA

An understanding of retail business systems

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: o Bachelors degree in Information Systems or similar Preferred: o Post-graduate qualification in Data & ytics, Information Systems or similar o Certification in PowerBI EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Essential o 2-3 years experience in, reporting, data extraction (Google Cloud Platform) and data ysis o 2-3 years report writing experience, as well as experience in preparing statistics and data visualisations relevant to the business function o 2-3 years experience in a similar role, with PowerBI Preferred: o Have a general understanding of data architectures and Google Cloud technology o Have a general understanding of SQL or similar coding/scripting techniques. o Retail environment business environment
