Job Description

Commercial Coop

Program Dates: July 8 2024 to December 20 2024

Who We Are:

Wayfair is seeking dataoriented enthusiastic and selfmotivated candidates for coop positions within our Commercial business. Commercial coops will have the opportunity to gain experience in core areas at the center of our customer experience and contribute directly to the growth and success of the company.

A successful coop will be able to develop a strong understanding of what drives commercial sales and leverage crossfunctional relationships to drive business strategies to grow Wayfairs retail business. The ideal candidate is curious analytical and customerfocused with great judgment and creative problemsolving skills. They will be passionate organized and comfortable working in a crossfunctional environment. This is a unique role for a highly motivated individual that is interested in joining a high growth company and making an immediate impact.

What Youll Do:

  • Analyze data trends and use resources to improve the quality of our product catalog in order to increase customer satisfaction trust and site conversion rates; researching categories and vendors to build out selection
  • Create crossfunctional partnerships to advance your category through merchandising promotions marketing ontrend product selection effective pricing and profitability strategy and operational excellence
  • Build key supplier relationships to enable successful negotiations and push towards bestinclass customer experiences
  • Leverage data to analyze the competitive environment and develop business cases for strategic initiatives
  • Represent Wayfair at various offsite events such as trade shows
  • Manage communication with internal and external stakeholders

What Youll Need:

Basic Qualifications

  • You are a current sophomore junior or senior pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Business or related field with a strong academic record
  • Able to commit to working 40 hours/week (9am5pm MondayFriday) from July 8 to December 20 2024

As a Commercial Coop youll join our teams that are driving Wayfairs bestinclass online customer experience. Youll be responsible for owning and maintaining Wayfairs vast ecommerce catalog executing strategy for product categories and managing supplier relationships and continually improving the customers onsite shopping experience.

Wayfair Professional (aka Wayfair B2B) is an industry leading business to business sales organization dedicated to help businesses make good spaces great. Wayfair Professional is the gated experience of Wayfair dedicated to all business customers. We organize our customer base and corresponding offering (site and sales) into 7 industry verticals prioritizing our Interior Design Commercial Office and Contractor experiences. We are on a journey to being a $5B business by 2025 (30% YoY growth) with over a $300B opportunity to cover across North America and Europe over the subsequent 10 years.

Catalog Merchandising

The Global Merchandising organization is responsible for building and maintaining Wayfairs commercial catalog of over 24 million products. The organization consists of multiple teams who each play a crucial role in defining and executing on bestinclass merchandising. The Global Operations Platform teams guide the management of our enormous product catalog and provide suppliers with tools to continually expand our product assortment. The Merch teams drive product discovery consideration and purchase on all of our stores and marketing channels by ensuring customers have complete accurate and relevant product information and removing friction for suppliers to provide it. The Data Integrations & Analytics teams leverage Big Data to optimize internal merchandising processes. Together these teams deliver on key merchandising goals.

Category Management

The Category Management team drives strategy for Wayfairs largest product categories through tight internal and external partnership. We serve as ambassadors of the product categories we manage. We are at the forefront as Wayfair redefines the supplier experience as a platform giving suppliers more data more transparency and more control while retaining the hightouch elements that make working with Wayfair exceptional. Internally we leverage a diverse set of crossfunctional partners to execute our strategic vision. In a role on the Category Management team you will be expected to define overarching goals and strategy within your category problemsolve articulate and execute against tactical plans and manage key business metrics. Members of the team must be able to expertly negotiate internally and externally while also being effective project managers.

Curated Merchandising

Curated Merchandising is responsible for catapulting Wayfair into a leading and compelling brand of choice. The broader organization includes Brand Development Creative Promotions and all forms of curated merchandising (e.g. Shop the Look Registry print catalog). This includes Physical Retail Stores Promotional Experiences and User Generated Content.

Perigold

Perigold is Wayfairs newest brand targeting the luxury home market. We are focused on providing an unparalleled assortment of luxury home goods through an elevated online shopping experience for our customers. We do this by connecting the best brands with our luxury customers while working on product curation brand marketing and storytelling building a bestinclass site experience and providing bestinclass service and delivery. We serve as ambassadors for the categories we manage by identifying and solving unique customer and supplier challenges. Internally we partner with various teams including Profit Management Merchandising Partner Operations Marketing Brand and Curated Merchandising and Promotions to bring the Perigold vision to life.

Physical Retail

The Physical Retail team aspires to be the first and favorite destination for anything home. We are building a retail platform that supports our expansion into physical retail across the Wayfair family of brands (AllModern Joss & Main Birch Lane Perigold Wayfair). We want to inspire our customers to find their just right solutionsproviding support and empowerment in an experience they can make their own.

Specialty Retail Brands

Wayfairs Specialty Retail Brands (AllModern Birch Lane Joss & Main) target the sixty billion dollar specialty furniture market and are incremental to Wayfair LLC. These brands provide a tightly curated assortment of highly stylish and elevated quality products for the styleobsessed specialty customer.

Supplier Advertising & Merch Services

The Supplier Advertising team sells and advocates the use of our advertising suite of products to our supplier base. We help suppliers stand out on site and amplify their exposure off site. The team is focused on driving the maximum performance for every dollar a supplier spends with us and drives significant high margin revenue to Wayfairs bottom line.

Visual Media Creation

This organization is made up of a group of fastpaced teams at Wayfair that manage the virtual factory building high quality photorealistic 3D models and imagery for both internal and external customers. These assets allow Wayfair to raise the quality bar for ecommerce imagery build out missioncritical proprietary brands and power nextgen customer experiences like Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.

Wayfair Coop Program Overview:

Based in Wayfairs Boston headquarters our coop program is a sixmonth fulltime paid program that runs twice annually in January to June and July to December. Through the coop program students have the opportunity to gain impactful professional experience in their major or career field of interest by fully integrating with Wayfair business units. While the majority of Wayfair coops join directly from an academic program some coops join us from varying professional and academic backgrounds seeking a sixmonth professional experience. In addition to exciting project work Wayfair coops have the opportunity to build their professional networks take advantage of training offerings and attend social events throughout the program.

Wayfairs InOffice Policy:

All Bostonbased interns Coops and corporate employees will be in office in a hybrid capacity. Employees will work in the office on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday and work remotely on Friday.
